Amber's Bubbly Burlap Wreath Party

Amber created a spectacular wreath at Shannon's Bubbly Burlap Wreath Party.  Her friends were impressed with her work and were interested in making on as well, so Amber contacted us to set up her own craft party.  From the time that we scheduled the party to the day of the party, Amber was prompt and organized.  She made our job VERY EASY!

Krysten and I woke up just before the pitter patter of little feet hit the floor, packed up the truck and we were on our way to Poquoson, VA!  Amber's Dad and Mom, Karen, as well as our littlest helper, Bella, helped us unload the truck and begin to rearrange/set up furniture to accommodate our biggest party yet!  We set up the paint, wreaths, burlap mesh, fabric, flowers, and ribbon in the sun room for easy access.

Bella was just the sweetest little helper!
As everyone arrived, they gathered in the sun room to choose their color combinations and ribbon/fabric choices.  We enjoyed a delicious brunch complete with fruits, veggies, bagels, cream cheese....Hmmmm...my mouth is watering!  Then, it was time to get down to business.  Everyone painted their letters and set them aside to dry.

Next, everyone began to add the burlap mesh to their wreaths using floral pins.....gather gather gather gather, meet in the middle, overlap, place on the wreath, puff it up, pin it down.  That was the mantra necessary to complete this part.  After all of that hard work, next came the fun part - jazzing the wreaths up with fabric, flowers, ribbon, fabric flowers (thanks Stephanie for showing everyone how to make them!).

Stamina - Necessary!

Yesterday, a great group of ladies created personalized coat racks and growth charts, just in time for school to begin (did I really just say that - where has the summer gone?) Our color bunting was hung and the paint bar was stocked and ready to rock-n-roll!

Before we began to craft, though, we snacked on irresistible chicken lettuce wraps, Asian salad, sandwich spirals, chips and salsa, fruit, and magic cookie bars - YUM! Partaking in these energy-fueling dishes was a must - this craft required stamina and a steady hand.

These ladies were up for the challenge!  After selecting their colors (that's the hardest part), they got to work.  Jessica and Heather were inspired by a project they pinned on Pinterest (my favorite site) and we worked together to achieve something similar (later you'll see that they turned out great!).  The chevron pattern was also very popular.  I've gotta admit - one of my favorites too!

One funny story from the night: As I was walking by, I noticed one of the glasses contained a blue liquid.  I first thought to myself, "What did we serve that was blue - I thought we just had water, tea, and lemonade? Did they bring their on drink? Oh man!"  Then I said, "Is this someone's drink?"  Brie chimed in, "That's Jessica's water that I washed my paint brush in!"  HAHAHA - It was bound to happen!  Hazards of crafting :)

Can you spot the change?
(Sorry Brie and Jessica - It's funny!)

Ladies, your projects turned out wonderfully - fun, colorful, and full of love and personal touches!  Thank you for coming to our party and crafting with us!  It was great to connect with friends and meet new friends!  We hope that you enjoyed yourselves and that you'll come back and craft again soon!
