Spooooktacular Wreath Party!

Today, we were lucky enough to spend the afternoon with old and new friends while we made spooky and down right "Boo-tiful" bubbly wreaths!  Krysten prepared delicious buffalo turkey meatballs, Texas caviar (thanks Ann for the pinterest post), pasta salad, country ham biscuits, and OREO TRUFFLES!  YUM!!!  Of course, I forgot to take a picture of our cutsie Halloween themed tablescape!

After we grabbed a bite to eat, everyone claimed their embellishments and began to gather, puff, and pin their mesh to the straw wreath.  Chesney was our lovely assistant.  She was in charge of distributing the floral pins, and she did a wonderful job!  Thanks Chesney!

You would've thought that these ladies worked at your local craft store.  They were finished with their wreaths in record time! Check out their finished products:

Craft Weekend at Smith Mountain Lake!

This past Friday, Krysten and I packed up our car and hit the road for our first craft weekend, in a beautiful lake house, at Smith Mountain Lake.  Along the way, we made lists for our lists!  We stopped at Walmart to purchase our groceries for the amazing meals that we planned for the weekend, then we continued on our way!

When Krysten and I arrived at the lake house, we were in awe! Although we had seen pictures of the house and property, nothing compares to seeing and experiencing it in person - truly breathtaking and so peaceful!

Daiquiri, Stephanie and Anna were the second car full to arrive.

Amber, Elizabeth and Shannon were the third car full to arrive.

Boy, did they have a trip!  I'll spare you most of the details, but when Shannon sent us a message via Facebook stating that we needed to get the wine ready -  along with this picture - we knew we were in for a good story!  Don't worry, everyone was okay - no ticket issued!

I don't know about you, but traveling makes me hungry, so we were sure to have heavy snacks available, even though it was 10pm.

After everyone arrived, the crafting began!  Everyone made their fabric selections and got to work.  These ladies will tell you, even novice sewers can tackle this project!  Okay, so there were a few bloopers:

Anna sewed her apron to her apron!
Daiquiri got stuck with the evil sewing machine; RIP sewing machine!

Check our their finished products:

On Friday night, I retired to bed around 2:30, but others stayed up past then - they were determined to finish their aprons, and they did!  After everyone awoke, Krysten made a delicious breakfast:

It was amazing!  Just what we needed to keep our stamina up in order to complete the next craft: growth charts!  After measuring, painting, stenciling, and painting again, everyone hammered out their growth charts/coat rack:

Don't these look amazing?
As the paint dried on the growth charts, everyone stamped and painted leather snap bracelets.  They were adorable and each held their own special meaning:

Our final craft was the colorful and fun bunting!  Shannon and Anna partnered up to create themed piles of fabric: Halloween, Fall, Valentine's.  Then, they cut each piece and began to sew their long strands of bunting to hang in their homes.  How fun!  Everyone's collections of colors/themes turned out so well.  I can't wait for them to hang them in their house and enjoy the joy that they bring!

On Saturday evening, we enjoyed our dinner while sitting on the deck, wearing sweatshirts, and feeling the refreshing breeze of cool air.  Dinner was delicious!

We took a break from crafting for a while and sat on the deck enjoying the cooler weather and chatting about our lives.  Then, it was back to work!  Tonight, though, everyone was in bed by a little after midnight!

In the morning, Shannon snuck out of the house early to decorate for Anna's surprise birthday celebration.  The girls planned to surprise her Friday night, but their plan fell through when Anna stayed up until 3am, which left no time for them to booby-trap her bedroom!  No worries, though, because Anna was surprised when she opened the door to the deck to find her decorations and delicious cinnamon rolls awaiting her!

After breakfast, everyone finished up their projects and packed their bags.  It was a collective effort to clean the lake house and pack the cars.  After seeing everyone pull together, I really began to understand "Sister Wives" (definitely not the children part because having so many children is....crazy...).

Krysten and I had an extraordinary time getting to know each and every one of you.  You are all amazing women and we feel honored that you chose to spend your weekend with us.  You all created amazing works of art that you should be so proud of.  This is definitely an experience that we will never forget!  We hope you start your week feeling relaxed and ready to conquer the world...or at least the laundry pile that was created while you were gone!

XOXO

A special thank you to the Freeman family for allowing us to experience your amazing lake house!  Thank you so very much!

Brie's Spooky Halloween Wreath Craft Party

This party was SO much fun to shop for....spiders, witches, brooms, bats, skeletons, eyeballs....EEEK!  I know it's crazy that we are thinking about Halloween in August, but there's no time like the present time, right?  Brie was our lovely hostess today.  She welcomed us into her home, allowed us to rearrange her furniture, provided a delicious spread of snacks, and didn't mind the spread of sparkle all around!

The combinations of colors and spooky embellishments were endless - that made choosing quite difficult, but these ladies did a terrific job figuring out just the right configuration - check our these masterpieces:
