39...38...37...36 Days until CHRISTMAS!!!

Saturday, it was super cold out - probably the coldest day yet (well, maybe today was colder), but we had the heat pumpin' and the candles burning!  As everyone arrived, our crafters brainstormed how they would design their Christmas Countdowns (wedding, retirement and birthday countdowns, too!) and began applying their first layer of paint to the 12in. x 12in. wooden board.

We passed the always so frustrating paint drying time by feasting on Mama Michele's Loade Baked Potato soup, homemade bread sticks, salad, and a Mexican hot chocolate trifle - DELICIOUS!

And when the paint doesn't dry fast enough...

...there's nothing a little blow drying can't fix :)  As Christine said, "That blow dryer always seems to make an appearance!"

As always, Krysten and I had a great time helping you create something that you can be proud to display at your homes during the holiday season!  Thank you for joining us, and we hope that you will come again soon!  Check out these awesome countdowns:

Updates - Bubbly Burlap Wreaths and Illuminated Canvases

Two weekends ago, Krysten and I helped the sweet McArthur's host a fun bubbly burlap wreath party! We feasted on chips and dip, chicken nuggets from our favorite Chick-fil-A, and "not on the plan" desserts.  We also sipped summer beer and other brews - YUM! The weather cooperated with us, so we crafted outside in the warm sunshine and cool breeze! It was beautiful - and the glitter was free to sprinkle the concrete ground instead of the hardwood floors and area rugs.

Check out these finished products:

The following day, we helped Alexis host a craft party at the Poquoson Community Center - this location was perfect!  Alexis' friends and family gathered in this open space to create bubbly burlap wreaths adorned with their initial or house numbers.  Alexis prepared pumpkin french toast casserole, ham biscuits, fruit and veggies, and cupcakes from Sinful Treats.  My diet flew out the window! Anywho- check out these beauties:

This past Saturday, Krysten and I hosted the Illuminated Canvas party!  We experienced damp, bone chilling weather outside, but inside, we stayed warm while eating Jambalaya, chips and dip, ginger snaps and pumpkin dip, apples and caramel-peanut butter dip, and veggies and dip.  After our bellies were full, we began to paint our canvases and arrange where to place our lights.  Everyone created something different, but all of the canvases were spectacular.

**One quick funny - Sorry Brie!**
Brie said, "I am going to test my lights because I don't want to end up like the Griswalds!"  So, Brie tested her lights - she was the only one - and all of her lights worked.  She punched all of her holes in her canvas and placed her lights on the canvas.  She plugged it in for the big reveal ----- AND ONLY HALF OF HER TREE LIT UP!  Poor Brie - we gave her another string of lights and all was well!

These canvases are awesome:

Three things I love about craft parties:
1) Enjoying the company of others, both old and new friends!
2) Encouraging others to channel their inner craftiness - just a little assistance and y'all begin to fly solo!
3) Watching how everyone interprets the crafts to suit their personal need/style.

Krysten and I are very grateful for your support and encouragement!  Each and every craft party is a gift in itself - we are surrounded by caring, compassionate, friendly, and creative people who have chosen to spend their time with us.  Thank you to all of you who have attended one of our parties, and we can't wait to see you all again soon!

Until then - happy crafting - and Check us out at the St. George's Brewery First Annual Fall Festival and Pumpkin Bake Off in Hampton from 11 - 5 this Saturday, November 8.
