Annie Sloan Yard Sale Find Makeover Party - Take 2!

Friday afternoon, a few of our friends came over with their yard sale finds, or an item or two from around their house that needed a little sprucing up, and we got to paintin.'

This time, I remembered to take a picture of the delicious food that Krysten prepared for us.  We feasted on marinated chicken and vegetable skewers, fresh fruit, and PICKLES!

After a brief introduction to using Annie Sloan paint, we  began to apply our first coat of paint.  Bitsy used Paris Gray on her small white bookcase - which is going to be re-purposed as a towel holder.  Patty used Emperor's Silk on her kitchen stools.  Michele used Paris Gray on the outside of her TV console and Florence on the inside, and Beth used Paris Gray on the outside of a pine chest and Arles on the inside.  This paint goes on like "Butta!"  A little dab will do ya....well, for at least a square foot of surface area.  It is very easy to apply and even easier to clean up - a little drop of dish soap and warm water cleans up the natural bristle brushes very nicely. The hardest part, and I'm sure these ladies will agree, is the waxing - you sure do work up a sweat when waxing.  Mr. Miyagi knew what he was talking about - wax on....wax off!

Check out these fabulous finished products:

Thank you Bitsy, Patty, Michele, Beth, and Brie for coming over and crafting with us.  Your finished products look completely different - in a great way!  Now that you have the makeover bug, i'll see ya at the yard sales, ReStore, and thrift stores - Come on over and paint anytime!
